Exhibition of four contemporary photographers
In Transition
Munem Wasif
Old Dhaka-the downtown of Dhaka city is changing everyday. 5 years back when I started my work the journey was completely diverse than now. In last 5 years, the old neighborhood has changed a lot. One old estate was being broken one part of locality was demolishing with it. It won’t be ever like before. It has become nostalgia forever. This lost of neighborhood, materialistic upheavals got the possession over my older emotional being in people’s slice of life. I tried to challenge myself, I decided to photograph details, objects, close up without people and in Color (Medium format). That gives completely different way to see my old Dhaka. I have seen things more closely.
Intelligent metal empire
(Union one)
The everyday use of sharp metal interests me. I (self) attempt to commit suicide two times but fail… But its one of the unique feeling I had ever tried to taste. There are millions of prejudice with me (us). Taboo: I (we) never want to hear, meet or discuss, though it attracts. There are two categories of sharp metal. One is socially accepted and silently legal. Other one is illegal and mostly used for violence. Both of those you can use, depends on how you want it.
Just remember that this is intelligent metal empire!
